Nib3d is a parametric 3D CAD app for the browser and Android tablets. Nothing to install, no email address – and the server can't read your models.
Hi, I'm Mika. I design things – brackets, enclosures, little fixes around the house – and I care a lot about privacy. For years I couldn't get both in one CAD app.
The CAD app I loved most only runs on the iPad. The big programs want my email address, an install and a lot of patience. So I built the CAD I was missing: quick to use, right in the browser and on my Android tablet with the pen.
The login is inspired by Mullvad VPN: you get a random account key – no email, no password, nothing that points back to you. Your models are encrypted on your device before they go anywhere.
Nib3d is a one-person project from Germany, paid for by subscriptions – not by your data.
01 · Sketch
Click your points – Nib3d snaps to axes, tangents and perpendiculars. Then drag the arrow, or just type 30.
Lines, arcs, circles and rectangles with live dimensions you can type into. Every sketch stays editable, and every number can be a variable.
02 · Shape
Fillets and chamfers with one click, countersunk holes, screws with Torx, hex or Phillips drives and real ISO threads – and text on any face.
Extrude, revolve, sweep along a path, shell, fillet, chamfer, holes, threads, patterns, text on faces, and surface fill with G2 continuity – checked with zebra stripes. Built on the Open CASCADE geometry kernel.
03 · History
Every step lives in the history. Go back to the first sketch, change a size, and the fillets, holes and text update with it. Save versions and branch off whenever you like.
04 · Together
Share a link and work on the same model at the same time. Even the cursors are encrypted.
05 · Private
The server stores only an HMAC of a login ID derived from your key (HKDF), and backups in encrypted 1 MiB chunks with HMAC entry IDs. Details are in the privacy policy.
06 · Android
The same Nib3d as an app for tablets and phones. Draw with the S Pen on Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S Ultra; a magnetic cursor makes finger input precise. It works offline, even without an account.

Nib3d is a parametric 3D CAD app for designing parts, for example for 3D printing. It runs in the web browser and as an Android app with S Pen support, and it is built for privacy: no email address, and backups are end-to-end encrypted.
Yes. The full CAD is free in the browser and on Android; your models are stored on your device. Encrypted cloud backup, sharing and live collaboration come with a plan from 5 € per month or 50 € per year.
No. Like Mullvad VPN, Nib3d gives you a random account key instead of asking for an email address and password. Keep it in your password manager; a passkey or Discord login can be added as a second way in.
No. Backups and shared projects are encrypted in your browser or app with AES-256-GCM before they are uploaded. The server stores only encrypted data and an HMAC of a login ID derived from your key. Share links keep the room key after the #, which never reaches the server.
Import: STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, BREP, SVG, DXF and images. Export: STEP, IGES, STL, OBJ, 3MF, SVG and DXF.
In current browsers on Windows, macOS and Linux with mouse and keyboard, and as an app on Android 10 or later. On Samsung Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S Ultra you can draw with the S Pen. There is no native iPad app yet.
A passkey, if you added one, still logs you in, backups included. Otherwise ask support, or log in with Discord if you turned that on: you get a new key, the old one stops working, and cloud backups encrypted with it are deleted. If you allowed key recovery when creating the account, support can give you a new key that keeps your backups instead. Models on your devices stay usable either way.
